"La mente è un labirinto, il modo in cui ci avventuriamo in essa è la natura dei nostri pensieri, il modo in cui troviamo l'uscita è l'essenza di noi stessi.”
"The mind is a labyrinth, the way we venture into it is the nature of our thoughts, the way we find the exit is the essence of ourselves."
- Luca Doveri
The (Half) Full Story
I was born in Rome on an August Sunday morning in 2002. Despite being of Italian nationality, my life's journey has predominantly unfolded on foreign soil, immersing me into a rich tapestry of diverse cultures, lifestyles, beliefs, and mindsets.
Nurtured by a resilient single mother, my upbringing began in Romania, spanning six formative years, before embarking on a three-year chapter in El Salvador. After my time in the tropics, I experienced the profound contrasts that five years in Germany had to offer. My transition into young adulthood unpacked in The Netherlands, marking the beginning of my journey in sustainability science.
Values and Vision
My introduction to the concept of global warming occurred during a workshop led by a biologist at my school in El Salvador, after which the profound implications of this phenomenon became clear to me. Ever since then, my purpose in life interlaced with Earth stewardship, driving my commitment to help safeguard our planet and ensure
social-environmental justice.
At my core, I am driven by three guiding values. First, I advocate for social unity and cooperation, recognizing the far-reaching effects of our actions on society. Second, I embrace ethical thinking fuelled by a strong sense of justice, shaping my daily decisions. Lastly, I support the expansion of our moral circle, fostering kindness towards non-human beings and enriching our collective experience.
